Welcome to the vibrant swing and blues community from Freiburg – at the foot of the Black Forest mountains!
Who we are
A community from all walks of life
We are people from all walks of life, driven by our love for swing and blues culture.
We're a vibrant community of swing dancers based in Freiburg, Germany. We create dance events that bring people together to connect, learn and have fun on the dance floor – whether you have been dancing for years or are trying your very first steps.
Lindy Hop, Blues, Balboa, Shag – no partner needed, everyone is welcome.

Blue Forest, Lindy Quiche & Lindy Cake
Blue Forest is our blues festival in Freiburg, Lindy Quiche brings Lindy Hop to lake Schluchsee, and Lindy Cake has its own website.

Where it all started: our Lindy Hop festival brought teachers and live bands from all over Europe to Freiburg from 2014 onwards. Browse the festival history.

The society
Black Forest Hop e.V.
We are a registered non-profit society (eingetragener Verein). Nobody gets paid to organise – the society is run entirely by volunteers.
Members support the local swing scene, help organise events and have a say in where the society is heading.
